Lakes BioFuels and strategic partners
get a look at Wisconsin's first large
scale (20M gallon per year) biodiesel
refinery (9/28/06). DeForest, WI -
The tour was led by Sanimax's new plant
manager, Russ Reid. The group is
pictured here on the rail loading dock,
just in front of the facility's 1M
gallon tank farm. The plant is set to
begin production in December of this
year, using largely recycled (yellow)
grease and cooking oil as feedstock. |

Great Lakes BioFuels collaborates with
O'Brien Farms to develop a mobile oil extraction
& biodiesel processing unit (8/15/06)
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade
and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has awarded a
grant to Great Lakes BioFuels and O’Brien Farms
of Oregon, Wisconsin for the research and
development of a mobile processing unit that can
process oilseeds into finished biodiesel right
on the farm.
